How do I add Items to a Project?

Items represent segments of a project. This could be a house or building's exterior, interior, a specific room, etc. You should set up a separate Item for each part of the overall project.

To add a new Item to a Project, follow these steps:

  1. Create a new Project, or open an existing one.
  2. Click the Add Item button.
  3. Enter the name of the Item. Note that these names should be unique within a Project.
  4. Select the Item type: Interior, Exterior or Cabinetry. The selection you make here will determine which options you can use to define the details for the Item.
  5. Expand out the Substrates section and enable the options that will be included in this part of the Project. To enable an option, click on the slider. You can then enter a dollar amount for that option.
  6. Expand out the Materials section and enter the details of the product(s) you will use in the Project. Use the Wall Color Allowances field to specify how many colors will be used in the Item. Use the Notes field to add any other details.
  7. Click the Pick Images button and select up to four photos to add to the Item.
  8. Review the Total Cost value calculated by PaintFlow. This is based on the pricing you enter in the options in the Substrates and Materials sections. To adjust this price, change the values for pricing; or you can override PaintFlow's calculation and set a price manually.
  9. Finally, click the Add Item button to add the new Item to the Project.
  10. The screen will update and you will be returned to the Project's screen. The new Item will be shown above the Project Notes.
